Mom, what is THAT?!

As my kids and I came up over the little hill after running errands in town they exclaimed "Mom, what is THAT?" Well, the concrete pumper truck was here to pump the concrete into the foundation forms. Chandler said he thought that maybe we were building a roller coaster. He's always thinkin'.

Baby Chicks (March 2010)

The boys put their money togethe and bought 25 laying hens. They are going to raise them and sell the eggs as a business. We were all VERY excited to go get them from Estes Hatchery in Springfield. So cute!

Haynes Brothers' Hens

They have researched countless hours about hens and other fowl. They knew just what they needed and what type of chickens are the best layers. They prepared the space and bought the equipment. The breeds they chose are Buff Orpingtons, Red and Black Sexlinks, Rhode Island Reds, Silver Laced Windots (sp?) and a couple of leghorns. Proud of those boys!

Chandler and Cooper attended the Missouri Falconers Association March 4th Meet! It was a complete surprise and from their reaction they loved it. They got to witness a very ancient form of hunting. They saw a hawk catch a rabbit and see several others attempt a kill. They owe their mommy big time as well as grandma Doris. As Rhonda got up at 6 am to drive them to St. Louis and Grandma Doris watched Kidron and Chloe so they could attend. And Grandma Sue helped as well with the final part of the day.
